About Us

In the beginning:

Qunomic, Inc., is a Kentucky-based company that began product development in 2004. 

Beginning in 2004, Qunomic began to look at the money, time, and effort required to maintain the 100+ year old methods of floor marking, signage and communication. Over the next few years Qunomic developed a maintenance-free, flexible, non-invasive, and environmentally friendly series of products. It has spent this last year proving the reliability of the products and reducing their cost to the customer. Our products are extremely cost effective and easy to use.

A culture of innovation

At Qunomic, we believe, as Peter Drucker said, "the only danger in life is not giving the wrong answers but asking the wrong questions". That’s why we continually strive to develop a culture of innovation. We believe that the best ideas flow in an environment of relaxation and freedom. So with that in mind, anybody in our company can put forth any idea at any time.

Brainstorming is the way we do business. Call it an artistic flare, but we believe in sketching out ideas and exploring where they might go. That’s why we hold brainstorming sessions up to 4 times per week, attended by every department.  Many times a team member who does not work in production or R&D will come up with a solution we test and use.

Our customers and distributors are also contributing members to our efforts to continually improve and field test products.

We do our own prototyping and testing.  Almost everyone, from the CEO down, touches a piece of prototyping equipment every week.  Production and R&D work seamlessly together to produce the best product possible.

We also believe that inspiration is contagious. For that reason, we invest in researching remarkable people both past and present who have shaped our world. We’re on the search for the ingredients common to all great thinkers and doers.

The entire reason our company exists is because someone risked the safety of the mundane for the promise of something excellent. With that same spirit of adventure, we embrace innovation.

Environmentally friendly

When we first started this company we had a goal of zero landfill.  We set this goal for ourselves and for our customers.  We work hard to help our customers achieve their "zero" policies.

To work towards the goal of zero waste, which we find harder than zero landfill, we have implemented policies that recycle 100% of our "production waste" back into production.  This is a challenge but we are committed to the care of the resources and environment of our grandchildren's and great-grandchildren's future earth.

Our products are made of 97% recyclable materials and were developed for companies that aim for zero-landfill.  Before we consider recycling a product we try to re-use it. We offer a trade-in policy on all of our products. In other words, if you no longer have a use for something you bought from us, it won’t have to be discarded or sit inside your building as dead inventory. We will buy it back or offer credit for your unneeded product.

We recycle waste from our production process. All of the scrap materials created during manufacturing are later recycled and reused in the manufacture of our products. 

Qunomic isn’t just interested in selling green, we’re interested in being green. Our entire facility currently recycles our waste and is working toward a goal of being paper-free.

Virtual

Anything that is virtual is, by definition, more flexible than something that is tangible.  Qunomic’s vPaint and vTape offers a kind of versatility that has previously never been possible. Using light instead of tangible materials makes it possible to quickly change both the location and content of your "signage".

For instance, a stop sign could be changed to a yield sign or a straight line can become a crosswalk. The possibilities are many. In terms of actually relocating the image, the Beacon can be moved in a matter of minutes. It is really a plug and point product.

Unlike paint, tape or decals, Qunomic gives you the option of changing your image as you engage in the process of continual improvement.  We have off-the-shelf signage for the Beacon and Queue Series, and the most common images are available for purchase. However, if you need something unique, we also give you the option of a custom design.

Because it is software-driven, the Einstein Series is capable of doing even more. Images and signs can be changed on-the-fly or scheduled up to a year in advance.  The Einstein products can respond to remote inputs, either mechanical or software, integrating with a WMS system, RFID, or a pick and delivery system.

The flexibility offered by vPaint and vTape allows companies to implement LEAN, Six Sigma, and other continuous process improvement systems quickly and at almost no cost.

American-based support

We know that to provide you with the best support, the person you are talking to needs to be incredibly familiar with the product, uses, and trouble-shooting procedures.  Whether customer or technical support, the people manning the phones are Qunomic employees that work or have worked in either Production, R&D, IT, or Marketing.

This provides them with hands-on knowledge of our products and their functions.  They do not address your concerns by reading through screen after screen of an impersonal database.  Instead, they are able to talk with you from their experience, coupled with the collected experience and knowledge of all our staff.

American-based production

Qunomic is proud to be an American company and wants to promote the manufacturing community by keeping our products as American-made as possible. This enables us and our suppliers to keep jobs here. 

Every component of our Beacon Series is manufactured in the United States.  Only one component in the Einstein and Queue product is not manufactured in the United States and that is only because no one in the States makes that component.  Every other piece of the Einstein and Queue is manufactured in the U.S. making the Einstein 98% American-made.  Every product Qunomic sells is assembled in the U.S.
