How does the Beacon crosswalk work?

What does it look like?

The Beacon creates an image of our uniquely designed crosswalk that moves back and forth (oscillates) defining the crosswalk area.

What size crosswalk can the Beacon create?

The size that an individual Beacon can create is dependent on the height of the ceiling over the crosswalk. The general rule is that a Beacon can create a crosswalk length which is twice the ceiling height. Use our product calculator to help determine your exact needs.

How is the Beacon crosswalk safer?

Because the crosswalk is created using Condensed Light Technology (CLT) and is defined by movement of that light, the crosswalk is more noticeable to the eye and is easier seen by the driver, even though he or she may have driven over that crosswalk a thousand times. Additionally, a pedestrian in the crosswalk is highlighted by moving light as they travel through the crosswalk.
